Joining the Temple of Umi is a process of spiritual discernment. We do not accept drop-ins. We do not allow anonymous participation. Every individual must apply, meet with a guide, and undergo a personal and spiritual screening process before they are ever invited to sit in ceremony.

The screening includes:
- A spiritual readiness interview
- A discussion of personal intention
- Review of physical, mental, and energetic health
- Full understanding of the ceremonial process
- Agreement to uphold our community values and code of conduct
We take our responsibility to steward the sacrament seriously. Our facilitators are trained to assess readiness, and no one is ever pressured to participate. We also screen for alignment with our religious principles. This is not about exclusion—it is about integrity.
After passing the screening, individuals are invited into a spiritual orientation where they learn about our ceremonial protocols, community agreements, and spiritual lineage. We are deeply committed to fostering a safe, protected, and spiritually-focused environment.
Participation is not guaranteed. Our sacrament is sacred, and we honor its power with care and discernment.
